Bill Crowder, lead vocal and songwriter for the 60's cult favorite
SUGAR CUBE BLUES BAND, is back with a new release. After the original band broke up in the late 60's, Crowder quit performing,
but continued to write his great songs. His music is still being performed and recorded by others as recently as 2008.
Crowder, AKA Country Boy Rolling Stone, has gathered material that has been requested for a long time and compiled a great
CD. Sugar Cube followers will find it interesting that some of the original band members are still recording with Country
Boy.
Country Boy's influences are Elvis,
Johnny, Waylon, Kris, and Dylan, just to name a few. That combination of influences has produced lyrically strong emotional
material not heard since the outlaw years. From the iconization of "Guardian Angel of the Honky Tonk Life" to the
soul searching portrait of the countless singers and pickers
who have played, and are still playing, the country palaces and third street bars that make up the scenic skyline of the endless
road in his "Country Boy Rolling Stone", to the good time rock and roll rendition of the title cut, "Hitchhiking
From Memphis to Mars", to all in between, we think you will find something to love here.
This is music from the heart and soul, music to just kick back, close your eyes,
and enjoy listening to. This is what you have been waiting for.
